As a self taught designer it was a helpful exercise to design a typeface. I took a basic sans-serif and straightened the horizontal curves. This reduces legibility, but it creates a mechanical or futuristic effect that works well for headlines and posters. The name Forward reflects the future and Ward is my middle name.
